Probably the finest of the large woolstore/warehouse buildings left in Melbourne. Construction began in 1861 & finished in 1862. Back section completed at a later date. It was important that an example of iron post and beam construction of this type should be preserved. Particular note is made of the ashlar bluestone masonry and prominently rusticated base and arches.
